My mind is my weapon, and other non-important issues. I'm totally amazed with what people can do out there. Surfers that take on huge waves, climbers that push their bodies and mental focus to the limit. You'll also find videos and news reports of crap I find interesting.

Time for Dodger Baseball!!

Last night was the start of another great season of Dodger Baseball. I want to congratulate Don Mattingly on a stellar performance to earn him his first win as the "skipper" in his major league manager debut. Overall I felt he made a lot of great moves and did not let the Giants get the best of his first night out.
My family and I have been Dodger fans as long as I can remember. As a child I would collect anything I can related to the boys in blue and last nights game brought back a lot of childhood memories.
It was nice to see the boys wearing number 4 in honor of Duke Snider. Snider played for the Dodgers for almost 20 years and was inducted into the hall of fame in 1980. For those of you that did not know, Duke got his nickname when he was just a small boy. At age five, Edwin Snider went off to his first day at kindergarten. When he came home and entered his house, his father spontaneously announced, "Here returns the Duke, back from his day out in the world" Why he said "Duke", neither young Edwin or his father seems to know the reason, but the name stuck, and he was "Duke" ever after.
Last night was a great start to what we always hope will be a great season.
